Which daycares in Manhattan take babies?

Infant daycares in Manhattan

The short answer

146 licensed Manhattan daycare centers take babies (the city lists ages from 0). Each one links to 3 years of NYC Health Department (DOHMH) inspections. 78 have no public health hazards and at most 1 critical violation, and 38 have at least one safe-sleep violation.

Grades How we grade

Few violations on file: 78 53%
Some violations on file: 48 33%
Open or repeated serious violations: 16 11%
Not graded: 4 3%

Not graded means an active program with no inspection on file in Child Care Connect in the last 3 years. It may be a new program, or the city may not have posted results yet. It does not mean the program is safe or unsafe.

Safe-sleep violations: what to ask

38 of these centers had at least one violation about safe sleep (things like SIDS training, cribs or nap rules) in the last 3 years. If one you like is on that list, ask what happened and what they changed. They're flagged at the top of each center page.

"Takes babies" means the city lists the program's ages starting at 0. It doesn't mean there's an opening. Call to ask.
